Both tools sell the same promise: pages, a list, a checkout and a course area in one account. The prices are not in the same conversation. ClickFunnels opens at $97 a month. Systeme.io opens at nothing and stays there.
A comparison that stops at those two numbers is useless, because a higher price sometimes buys something. So the honest question is narrower: read the two pricing pages side by side, and what exactly does the extra money get?
The answer turns out to be specific, and it is not the thing most buyers assume they are paying for.
The floor decides most of this
ClickFunnels has no free tier. There is a 14-day trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee, and after that the cheapest way to keep an account open is Launch at $97 a month, or $81 a month if paid annually.
Systeme.io's free plan is a working account rather than a countdown. Its pricing page states plainly that the plan never expires and does not require a credit card, and it lists 2,000 contacts, three sales funnels, one course, one blog, one custom domain, unlimited email sends and unlimited file storage.
For anyone who has not yet proved the offer works, that difference decides the comparison before any feature is examined. One path costs $1,164 a year to find out whether the funnel converts. The other costs nothing, and the cost of being wrong is an afternoon.
Where ClickFunnels is genuinely ahead
The ClickFunnels plans are built around a team and a business with several operations running at once, and the plan sheet shows it. Launch includes one workspace and two team members. Scale at $197 a month raises that to five workspaces and five team members, Optimize at $297 to ten of each, and the annual-only Dominate plan at $5,997 a year to twenty.
Email is metered rather than open-ended: 50,000 sends a month on Launch, 300,000 on Scale, 750,000 on Optimize and 1.2 million on Dominate. There is also an AI writing allowance measured in words, from one million on Launch to ten million on Dominate, and the higher plans add a custom code editor and priority or VIP support. Dominate includes a three-hour private onboarding.
Systeme.io's pricing page lists none of that. If several people need separated workspaces, or the operation is large enough that a written email ceiling matters for planning, ClickFunnels is describing a business that Systeme.io's plan sheet does not describe at all. That is a real reason to pay, and it has nothing to do with whether the page builder is better.
The same $97 twice
What $97 a month buys on each platform
ClickFunnels Launch — $97/mo
- 10,000 contacts, 50,000 emails per month
- Unlimited funnels, 3 courses, 5 custom domains
- 1 workspace, 2 team members
- 1M words of AI tools, standard support
- Webhooks and full API access are not included at this tier
Systeme.io Unlimited — $97/mo
- Unlimited contacts
- Unlimited funnels and courses
- Unlimited email sends and file storage
- Free migration service
- No workspace, team-member or email-volume figures published
Line the tiers up on contacts alone and the arithmetic is blunt. The 10,000 contacts that cost $97 on ClickFunnels Launch cost $47 on Systeme.io's Webinar plan. Above 10,000 contacts, Systeme.io's Unlimited plan removes the cap entirely at $97, while the ClickFunnels plan that reaches 75,000 contacts is $197.
So the price gap does not buy audience headroom. Headroom is cheaper on Systeme.io at every tier, and uncapped at the price where ClickFunnels is still counting. What the gap buys is team structure, written volume ceilings, AI allowances and support level. Whether that is worth roughly $100 a month depends entirely on whether a team exists to use it.
The API line almost no comparison mentions
Read the ClickFunnels plan sheet carefully and one item sits only on the upper plans. Webhooks and full API access appear on Scale, Optimize and Dominate. They do not appear on Launch. Automating the account is therefore a $197-a-month feature, not a $97-a-month one.
Systeme.io publishes a documented public API whose reference index carries 125 endpoint entries, covering automation rules, contacts, tags, funnels, courses, payments, bookings, communities, domains and files, along with documented webhooks and their events. It also runs an MCP server, the interface that lets an AI assistant work inside the account directly, with keys generated from the dashboard's MCP and API keys section.
That MCP server is early and narrower than its promise suggests. Its own documentation states that contacts, tags, tag assignment, contact fields and newsletters are the only capabilities exposed, and that other features are not yet supported. Useful for list operations driven by instruction rather than clicking; not yet something to build a business process on without testing it first.
Choosing without a feature table
- Choose Systeme.io if the offer is not yet proven, because starting at zero makes being wrong cheap.
- Choose Systeme.io if the constraint is audience size, because contact headroom costs less there at every tier and is uncapped at $97.
- Choose Systeme.io if the account should be driven programmatically on a small budget, because the API and webhooks are documented without a tier gate on the pricing page, where ClickFunnels places full API access at $197.
- Choose ClickFunnels if separated workspaces and several team members are how the work is actually organised, because Systeme.io's plan sheet does not describe that at all.
- Choose ClickFunnels if a written email-volume ceiling and a support tier are things the operation has to plan around.
- Either way, run the real funnel before deciding, because a plan sheet cannot tell you whether the builder suits how you work.
The cheapest honest test costs nothing on one side and fourteen days on the other. Build the single funnel the business actually needs, send real traffic at it, and let the contact count and the team size decide the plan rather than the feature list.
Technical disclosure
Every ClickFunnels plan name, price, annual price, contact limit, email allowance, course, domain, workspace, team-member and AI-word figure, plus the 14-day trial and 30-day money-back guarantee, was read from ClickFunnels' own pricing page on 27 September 2026. Every Systeme.io plan name, price, limit, the two-months-free annual term and the statements that the free plan never expires and needs no credit card were read from Systeme.io's pricing page on the same date. The 125 endpoint entries come from the developer documentation index, and the MCP capability list from the MCP server documentation, which carried a last-updated date of 8 June 2026.
Pricing pages are the fastest-ageing thing either company publishes, and a comparison table is out of date the moment one of them runs a promotion. Check both current pages before paying. The absence of a figure on one plan sheet means the vendor does not publish it, not that the capability is missing. Nothing here is a paid placement, no affiliate link appears on this page, and no figure was taken from another comparison.
